“Elephant’s Sneeze” presented at library program

DEMOPOLIS-Wednesday, children from two years old to pre-kindergarten came together at the Demopolis Public Library to see Connie McPherson and special guest Tracy Spiller perform “The Elephant Sneeze” as part of the library’s programs throughout the summer. The puppet show told the story of an elephant named Ellie who wanted to join the circus, but had a problem with sneezing.
McPherson, an amateur puppeteer, and her partner Spiller kept the children entertained although she said she does not perform puppet shows often.
“I don’t really use puppets all that much,” McPherson. “They came in the library association stuff.”
McPherson said she had a lot of help in getting the program together.
“Lisa Wynn did our backdrop and I put the curtains on it,” I drafted Tracy and Morgan to help me out since they were singing here today.”
After the puppet show Spiller and the children performed several fun songs. Wednesday’s events were only a small part of the events on tap for the next two weeks. Upcoming events include:

Kids in grades 4-6 won’t want to miss Skip Cain, The Magic Guy, at the Demopolis Public Library at 3 pm.
June 29
Tomie DePaola’s tale, Strega Nona, will come to life for kids from 2 yrs to Pre-K at 10 am at the Demopolis Public Library.
June 30
Steve Burgess and his goofy friend, Maynard, are back by popular demand!
Kids in grades K-3 can enjoy their silly songs and antics at 2 pm at the Demopolis Public Library.
