DEMOPOLIS-After A Tuesday accident left local youth Cody Webb in serious condition the outlook has improved. Davis, who was transferred to the University Medical Center’s children’s hospital in Jackson, Miss. was showing improvement Thursday.

Webb underwent a scope, which revealed no damage to his trachea or esophagus. He will now undergo MRI’s to assess damage to his knees.

While doctors and family members are doing their part to help Cody through his treatment and recovery the Demopolis community is also reaching out to lend the family a helping hand. Webb’s family plans to be by his side throughout the recovery process. Unfortunately, this process can get expensive. While the family does have medical insurance the expense of remaining in Jackson will not be covered.

Because of this Robertson Bank of Demopolis has set up an account where donations can be made to help the Webb family remain in Jackson. Representatives of the bank said the account was just their way of helping out a local family and friend in their time of need. Webb was injured Tuesday outside York when the sport utility vehicle he was a passenger in left Highway 80 in a skid. The vehicle then went into a roll. The other passengers escaped serious injuries.
