Many of the people who fled storm-ravaged parts of Louisiana, Mississippi and coastal Alabama have found their way here to Demopolis, but are looking at a very extended stay. Some are looking for work and Wal-Mart manager John Whitehead said his company can help.
“Associates who worked at Wal-Marts in those areas and are staying here can work here or at any Wal-Mart,” he said.
He said associates who are out of work because their home store is closed because of damage done by Hurricane Katrina can report to any Wal-Mart and get work.
“We already have four that are working here and two more are supposed to be starting soon,” he said. Other Wal-Marts evacuees might consider are the Super Centers in Selma, Thomasville, Tuscaloosa and Jackson.
“We just wanted to let people know this was available,” Whitehead said. Those interested can contact him at (334) 289-2385.
