Sweet Water rolls to third straight easy victory, 55-6 over Linden

Can anyone stop the Bulldogs? Sweet Water rolled to their third straight blowout victory Friday, 55-6 over the previously undefeated Linden Patriots.

The Bulldogs jumped out to another huge halftime lead. QB Deon Williams scored from 32 yards out and then hit Travion Lockette with a 17-yard pass to put Sweet Water up 14 at the end of one. In the second Anthony Landrum ran for 5 and 4-yard touchdowns, Dominic Holt dashed in from 27 yards out, and with 21 second left in the half Williams snuck in from a yard out. Jeremy Tucker went 6 of 6 on extra points to give the Bulldogs a commanding 42-0 halftime lead.

In the third quarter Patrick Gamble (from 7) and Lockett (from 60) each scored to put Sweet Water up 55-0. Linden’s Seandre Richardson scored late in the game to ruin the Bulldog shutout and provide the final margin.

The Patriots finished the game with 121 yards rushing and only three completed passes by quarterback Darnell Richardson. Marvin Richardson had 4 carries for 24 yards. Seandre Richardson added 8 yards on kickoff returns, 2 carries for 32 yards, and the touchdown. Chris Martin ran 52 yards on a kickoff return and had 6 carries for 32 yards. QB Darnell Richardson ran 10 yards on kickoff returns and had 1 carry for 3 yards.

The Patriots defense was led by Seandre Richardson and Marcus Catlin both with 5 tackles. Carlos Tate had 4 hard tackles. Maurice Tate and JaMarlin Leduff both had 3 tackles while Johnathan Tate and Chris Martin both contributed 2 tackles.

The Patriots will look to get back their momentum as they play at home against Francis Marion next Friday night at 7:00p.m. Sweet Water will move on to face Marengo.
