The Sunshine Tigers made short work of Calhoun Friday rolling to a 34-12 win.
The Tigers needed less than three minutes to get on the board as Marcus Lee found Royce Hamilton streaking down the field for a 37 yard scoring strike to give the Tigers a 6-0 lead.
Less than two minutes later the Tiger air attack hit pay dirt again when Lee found Jermaine Hood open for a 29 yard score to pad the Tiger lead at 14-0.
After building an early lead the Tigers chose to keep the ball in the second quarter and grind out drives. Though the process was slower, the results were the same as Robert Lyons found the endzone on a 9-yard run to up the Tiger lead to 20-0.
It looked as if Sunshine would run away with the game early, however, Calhoun was not ready to give up. Calhoun put together a short drive capped by a 54 yard Rick Davison run to put them on the board with 13 seconds to go in the half. The extra point failed leaving the score 20-6 Sunshine at the half.
In the second half the Sunshine defense completely shut Calhoun down while the offense continued to grind away. The Tigers added a 20 yard Jermaine Hood run and a two point conversion in the third to make the score 28-6.
The Tigers capped their scoring in the fourth quarter with a 9-yard pass from Lee to Hamilton to up the lead to 34-6.
Calhoun added a late score to make the game
34-12 contest, but could get no closer.
