Cowan pleads guilty to sexual abuse

MARION-Uniontown resident John Cowan pled guilty Tuesday in Perry County Circuit Court to two counts of sexual abuse.
Cowan, 54, was charged with two counts of sexual abuse in connection with an incident which occurred on July 31, 2004. The crime is a class C felony and each count could carry up to 10 years in prison.
The victims in the case were 12 and 10 years old.
Circuit 4 District Attorney Michael Jackson said his office is committed to keeping sex offenders off the streets.
“We are going to make sure criminal molestor’s of children and women are going to be sent away for a long time,” Jackson said.
Sentencing will take place at the Perry County Courthouse on Jan. 5.
