Shelby announces FEMA meeting

WASHINGTON, DC — U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-AL) today announced thatthe Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will host a meeting for disaster contractors in Montgomery.
The meetingwill explain the types of disaster work opportunities that may be available following Hurricane Katrinaand encourage businesses to apply for available contracts.
Senator Shelby said, “I am pleased that FEMA is hosting this meeting for companies seeking disaster contracts.
Although it has been three months since Hurricane Katrina, we must continue to find ways to rebuild those areas affected by this horrible natural disaster. This meeting will provide necessary information to continue important recovery efforts, and I encourage those interested to take advantage of this opportunity.”
At the session, FEMA contract specialists will provide a basic disaster process overview, outline bidding procedures and answer audience questions.
