The Demopolis High School Lady Tigers have had little time to rest this week as they have taken the field for games on Monday and Tuesday.
But, the busy schedule doesn’t seem to have slowed them down as they have outscored their opponents 21-5 to take two wins.
Monday, the Demopolis bats were on fire as they blew past Greensboro 15-0. Hunter Lewis led the way for the Lady Tigers at the plate going 2-for-4 with 2 RBI.
Molly Barnes added a hit and two RBI of her own. Brandi McGee also chipped in a hit and RBI.
While the Lady Tigers were bust rounding the bags, pitcher Sara Davis was getting the job done defensively. Davis threw all five innings allowing only one hit, while striking out eight.
Tuesday, things were not as easy for Demopolis in their game with Dallas County. Both Demopolis and Dallas County brought their A-game to the plate, but the Lady Tigers were able to pull out the 6-5 win.
India Chancellor led the way for Demopolis going 3-for-3 with a homerun and 3 RBI. Brandi McGhee added a homerun directly after Chancellor’s for an RBI of her own.
Hunter Lewis also turned in a hit.
McGhee held on late to take the win on the mound. She threw seven innings allowing four hits, while striking out six.
Demopolis next travels to Butler Thursday for a matchup with Choctaw County. The junior varsity is set to play at 4 p.m. while the varsity takes the field at 5:30 p.m.
