The Linden Police Department, in an ongoing effort to take drug dealers off their streets, was back on the trail Thursday night resulting in two arrests.

After gathering evidence and performing surveillance work, a search warrant was executed at Linden Villas at 11 p.m. where Shenita L. Thomas, 32, and Randy Wilson, 24 were both arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance -crack cocaine – and possession of marijuana, first degree. Both were also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

The arrests, Chief Jeff Laduron said, should serve as an example to other dealers in Linden.

“I hope this will send a message out that if you sell or use drugs in our city you will get caught,” Laduron said. “We will continue to work hard on this problem.”

During the raid, officers seized 15 crack rocks, two bags of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, $652 cash and a .25 caliber pistol.

Both suspects were placed in the Marengo County Jail pending a bond hearing.

Officer Dexter Watters, K-9 officer Tony Gary, officer Johnny Braxton, officer Wesley Vice, Sgt. Scott McClure and Laduron were all involved in the raid.

If anyone has information on suspicious or illegal activity in their area, Laduron asks them to contact the department at (334) 295-8697.
