A break-in at a Demopolis gas station early Thursday morning has local authorities hot on the trail of a burglar.

The DPD received a call Thursday morning around 2:26 a.m. when an alarm sounded at Mr. Roy’s gas station on U.S. Highway 80.

When officers arrived, Director of Public Safety Jeff Manuel said, they found an obvious burglary scene.

“We had an alarm go off and when officers arrived, the door was busted out,” Manuel said. “They done some damage around the store and an undetermined amount of cash was missing.”
