For Evan’s sake

It was an evening of varied entertainment in the Demopolis High School gymnasium last night.
However, the amusement wasn’t simply for the sake of enjoyment. It was something more important than a few smiles.
Proceeds from last night’s Summer Variety Talent Show totaled $1,500, which will be donated to Evan Spence’s medical expenses.
And as a bonus surprised to both the crowd and the Spence family, members of First United Methodist Church decided to match every dollar raised.
“Thanks for coming and supporting Evan,” FUMC representative said, “We at First United Methodist Church will give a match of the $1,500 raised at the door.”
With the FUMC donation included, the total funds raised for the Spence family jumped to $3,000.
Which definitely isn’t bad for one night.
“If you want to give more you can,” Dan Wilson, the night’s master of ceremonies, said, “and they will continue to match it.”
