The Demopolis starting pitcher Logan Holley had some early control problems that he couldn’t shake. In the first inning, Sumter took an early 2-0 lead on some walks and a blooper over first base that scored one run.

Holley’s outing was a short one. The young hurler was pulled after the first inning.

The coach instead turned to fire-baller Chase Cameron, who was able shut Sumter down and strikeout six in five innings of work.

Demopolis scored one in the second inning on a wild pitch.

Demopolis’ bats finally caught fire in the bottom half of the fourth frame.

Pierre Thomas and Kole Thrasher scored on a single by Tyler Polk.

William Stewart hit a blooper into rightfield that scored Polk and Holley.

Payne Hasty reached on a fielder’s choice and was scored by a Louis Stuedeman single.

Walker McNiel blooped a shot over first to score Stuedeman from second.

Demopolis won 10-2 and now advances to play Clanton in the District Championship.
