Leading the good life

New Creation Family Ministries will be partnering with the Theo Ratfiff Community Center to host a youth conference. The conference will focus on teaching teens how to maintain a healthy self-esteem, how to find and live out their purpose, how to abstain from having sex and thus not becoming pregnant as teens or get sexually transmitted diseases and teach them basic principles such as character and integrity.

“I’m from Gallion and went to school in Linden, so I thought Demopolis would be a good place to hold the conference. This is my way of giving back to the community and my home,” said Kristopher Spears, director of the conference.

The non-profit Christian organization will use Christian principles to help teens grow into mature and productive adults.

“We are asking the local community and your organizations in particular to partner with us to accomplish these goals,” Spears continued. “We would also like to provide the young people with much needed school supplies.”

The conference will be free to teens, and will be held July 26th and 27th from 10 am to 3 pm both days. Speakers from Atlanta, GA and Indianapolis, IN will be at the conference. Manuals and memorabilia from the event will be given to attending teens to remind them of their commitments.
