DEMOPOLIS &8212;

After 44 years of being in the medical profession, and 19 years in Demopolis, Dr. John McLennan has retired.

For the past year, Dr. McLennan has been the chief of staff at Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital.

Dr. McLennan graduated from Dalhousie Medical School in Halifax, Canada in 1962. He and his family moved to the States in 1978, and then to Demopolis in 1987.

So what is Dr. McLennan going to do with his retirement?

Dr. McLennan has four sons, Michael, Paul, Tommy and David. He also has three grandchildren, John Benjamin, Isabella, and Bailey Adair. It&8217;s safe to assume with being retired, he will have a lot more time to spend with family and watch his grandchildren grow.
