Residents not injured when tree falls on home

FORKLAND &8212; A Forkland home on Shep Cook Road became the victim of a falling tree around 5:30 a.m. yesterday.

According to Giles, the falling tree sounded like a bomb going off.

The home health care nurse, Deborah Bambarger, called Roy Jines Callout Assistant for the Forkland Volunteer Fire Department to report the tree being down.

Members of the Forkland Volunteer Fire Department who responded were: Louie Jines, Roy Jines, Linda Thomas, Ronny Draper, Joe Polifka, Kat Etheridge and Hardis Washington.

According to Linda Thomas, the tree probably fell just because it was old.
