DEMOPOLIS &045; Demopolis High School will host its Eighth Annual Holiday Basketball Classic this weekend, including tomorrow and Saturday. The tournament will feature some high-powered basketball featuring area schools.

The tournament is set up where the two Friday night winners will face each on Saturday for the tournament championship. The girls will feature Demopolis’ own Lady Tigers, who come into the tourney with a 7-1 record.

Also included is the Greene County Lady Tigers, who will open the tournament up tomorrow against the Greensboro Lady Raiders. Greensboro comes into tomorrow’s contest undefeated for the season and ranked third in the state.

The Lady Raiders, last season sub-regional champs, fell in the first round of the state regional tourney.

Demopolis opening game will be against the Sumter County Lady Wildcats. Sumter County fell short of the regional championship last season.

The first game will start at 4 p.m. The winners of tomorrow’s match ups will play each other on Saturday with a 6:30 p.m. start.
