Navy retiree named Veterans Service Officer

LINDEN &8212; Sandra Wright-Daniels will start her new position as the Veterans&8217; Affairs Service Officer Monday.

Wright-Daniels is a native of Demopolis and graduate of John Essex with a military background.

Wright-Daniels served on the Frank Cable and Yosemite for two years, and the USS John F. Kennedy for three years.

When she retired, she was stationed at Keesler in Biloxi, Miss., as a Precision Physical and Dimensional Course Division Officer. While stationed there, she supervised eight multi-service instructors with an annual output of 196 students; was responsible for quarterly budgets in excess of $20,000; performed semi-annual and annual performance evaluations; administered academic review boards; coordinated personnel transfers foreign national students and provided quarterly course updates to management.

According to Wright-Daniels, her training for the service officer position will come from books, training seminars in Montgomery and the current temporary service office for Marengo County.

Wright-Daniels comes from a military and law enforcement family.

When Wright-Daniels retired after 20 years of serving the Navy, she left with several medals and ribbons.
