Rodericus Morgan hasn’t even reached age 20, however, if the Perry County court system has its way, he may spend his next birthday in a jail cell.
Morgan, an 18-year-old Uniontown resident, is currently being held in the Perry County jail as he faces possible sexual abuse charges in addition to existing first-degree rape charges.
On Monday, July 3, 2006, a female Uniontown minor and her father reported to the hospital after she had been raped.
It was there, after necessary precautions had been taken that Uniontown police officer Nash Gibson took note of her story in an incident/offense report.
“It happened between 8 and 10 that night. Her father took her to the hospital and after they did the rape kit, I got her statement,” Gibson said.
When asked if the victim knew the suspect, Gibson replied, “He is her cousin.”
Because of his illicit actions with an under-aged family member, Morgan is currently being held in jail with a $20,000 bond.
Although a court date has yet to be set, Gibson said Morgan could get out, charges pending, if he can make bond.
Morgan faces first-degree rape charges, with the possibility of the courts adding sexual abuse charges to the list.
This is Morgan’s second time being arrested since being taken into custody as a minor on less serious charges.
