Greensboro trips Bobcat in OT

GREENSBORO &045; Senior Ivory White scored nine of the Greensboro Raiders 13 overtime points to lead his team to a, 86-80 win over the R.C Hatch Bobcats.

There were nine ties and eight lead changes through regulation. Hatch led by as much as ten points in the second quarter, but the Raiders fought and secured another win.

The Bobcats held a 17-15 advantage after the first eight minutes of play. They held the lead through out the first half of the contest. Hatch went up 35-25 at the 2:36 mark of the second quarter. Greensboro would cut its deficit to 37-31 by the end of the second quarter.

Greensboro’s DeMarquell Tabb and Bobcat Frankie Sullivan were the leading scorers at the half with 12 points each.

The Raiders battled back in the third quarter. They would out score Hatch 7-3 in the first two minutes to tie the game at forty. The game see-sawed the rest of the quarter. Greensboro put together a 28 point third quarter to take the lead 59-57.

The Raiders built a five point advantage with 5:13 left in regulation, but the Bobcats would come back to drop in five straight to tie the game at 67. The game would tie again at 71 and again at 73 with a minute left to play. Neither team could get a basket in the final minute, though both teams had opportunities. Greensboro had the final chance with five second left but their shot fell short sending the game into over time.

Hatch’s Frankie Sullivan led all scorers with 33 points and teammate Antwain Sparks added 10 points. Greensboro had four players in double figures. Tabb finished with 22 points. White contributed 20 points. Calvin Skipper and Dontae Reaves netted 16 points each.
