DEMOPOLIS &045; Alberta Brand, 84, of Demopolis died on January 18, 2007 at Bryan Whitfield Hospital. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Larkin&Scott Funeral directors of Demopolis.

LINDEN &045; Abraham Kimbrough, 76, of Linden died on January 5, 2007 at Bryan Whitfield Hospital. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m on Saturday, January 13, 2007 at the Hope Hill Baptist Church in Dayton. The Rev. Johnny Jones officiated. Interment followed in Dayton Cemetery in Dayton.

Survivors include a friend, Rose Ann Massey; five children, Valerie and Bernadette Kimbrough, Theresa Lang, Riviera Harris, Patricia Patton and Eric Jones; 19 grandchildren; two sisters, Janice Harris and Elizabeth Wright; friends, Freddie and Pearl Holt, Amos and Isaac Holt; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

Marva Lee Mitchell-James

DETROIT &045; Marva Lee Mitchell-James, 70, of Detroit, formerly of Forkland, died on January 6, 2007 in Detroit. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 13, 2007 at the Lloyd Chapel Baptist Church in Forkland.

The Rev. Clayborn May officiated.

Interment followed in the adjoining cemetery. Larkin&Scott Funeral directors of Demopolis entrusted with arrangements.

Survivors include her husband, Nathan B. James Jr. of Detroit; her daughter, Asia Frances of Detroit; stepdaughter, Kelly McGhee; a host of step-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law; one brother in law and a host of cousins and special friends.

DEMOPOLIS &045; Freddie Lee Simmons Sr., 65, of Demopolis died on January 7, 2007 at Bryan Whitfield Hospital. Funeral services were held at 1p.m.

on Saturday, January 13, 2007 at the Friendship Baptist Church in Demopolis.

The Rev. Henry Thompson is the pastor. The Rev. Mitchell Congress officiated. Jesse Wheeler was the Master Of Order.

Interment followed in the adjoining cemetery.

Larkin&Scott Funeral directors of Demopolis were in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Malinda Simmons of Demopolis; four children, Freddie Simmons Jr. of Bradenton, Fla., Joyce Cunningham and Linda Cosby of Demopolis and Linda Snell of St. Petersburg, Fla.; six grandchildren; four sisters, Ruthie Simmons of Demopolis, Melvena Gilbert of Buffalo, N.Y. Pearlie Simmons of Dover, Del. and Betty Lynch of New York and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
