Sarri Flugham Beazley

GALLION &045; Sarri Flugham Beazley, 86, of Gallion died on Thursday, February 1, 2007 at her residence. Funeral Services will be 2 p.m., Sunday at the Gallion Baptist Church with the Rev. Stancil Clements, Dr. Bobby Hopper and the Rev. Timothy Davis officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday, one hour prior to the servicestarting at 1 p.m.in the church.

Beazley was a native of Ashby andamember of the Gallion Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Water Hansford Flugham and Sally Posey Flugham; her stepmother, Gena Huffman; her husband, Tom Beazley, seven brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Mark McKinney, Greg Roach, Wayne Flugham,C.W. Flugham, Earl Nivens and Dewey Flugham. The family requests no flowers.

Grady Williams

GREENSBORO &045; Grady Williams, 80, of Greensboro died on Jan. 20, 2007 at Hale County Hospital in Greensboro. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today, Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2007 at the Washington&Paige Mortuary Chapel in Greensboro with the Rev. C.H. Agnew officiating. Visitation was from 12 noon until 7 p.m. yesterday at the Washington&Paige Mortuary. Interment will be held in the Union Grove Church Cemetery in Greensboro.

Washington&Paige Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.

Sidney Leon Calhoun

CENTREVILLE &045; Sidney Leon Calhoun, 83, of Centreville, formerly of the Valley Community in Hale County, died on Feb. 2, 2007 at his home. Funeral services for Calhoun were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 4 at the Pleasant Valley Methodist Church in Hale County with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation was held from 1:30 p.n. until the time of service.

Braz Barnette, a long-time friend of the family will officiate.

Calhoun was born in Hale County on May 23, 1923 and lived there until Sept. 3, 2005. Most people knew him as &8220;Mr. Leon.&8221; He was an employee of the Alabama Department of Transportation, retiring with 30 years of service.

Calhoun is preceded in death by his first wife, Grace Clements Calhoun and his parents, Otha E. and Gracie Mayfield Calhoun.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby McMillan Calhoun of Centreville; one son, Nicky L. Calhoun; one daughter, Judy C. Dean; one brother, Ferrell Mayfield Calhoun of Marion; two sisters, Marie C. Gibbs of Greensboro and Mary C. Creel of Brent; stepchildren and a host of grandchildren and step-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests love offerings be made in Calhoun’s memory to: Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church, c/o Mrs. Nancy Cochran, 614 Moore St., Marion, AL 36756.

Pallbearers were Jimmy Duncan, Denard Younghouse, Carlos Washburn, Verne Clements, Wayne Hoggle and Allen Thomas.
