Newell Wayne Eicher

NEWBERN &045; Newell Wayne Eicher, 73, of Newbern died on Sunday, Feb. 4, 2007 in Newbern. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 8, 2007 at Cedarcrest Mennonite Church in Faunsdale with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Kenneth Diller will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. today, Feb. 7, 2007 at Cedarcrest Mennonite Church.

Eicher was preceded in death by his parents, Leland and Hannah Johnson Eicher; his sister, Mildred and his son, Wayne Eicher.

He is survived by his two daughters, Arlene Litwiller of Newbern and Beverly Penner of Grandview, Manitoba Canada; his two sons, Charles Eicher of Newbern and Steve Eicher of Gallion; four sisters, Charity Smith, Eunice Smith, Althea Dyck and Imo Peters, all of Walnut Hill, Fla.; four brothers, Ward Eicher, William Eicher, Wallace Eicher and Wendell Eicher, of Walnut Hill, Fla.

Kirk Funeral Homes Greensboro Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Harold G. &8220;Midge&8221; Williams

GREENSBORO &045; Harold G. &8220;Midge&8221; Williams, 78, died on Jan. 30, 2007 at Hale County Hospital. Graveside funeral services were held at Mount Hermon United Methodist Church Cemetery at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 2. The Revs. Tim Bonds and Arthur Thomas officiated.

Williams retired from the City of Greensboro, where she was the city clerk for 18 years. She was a member of Mount Hermon United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the choir and served as secretary/treasurer for over 40 years. She also served as secretary/treasurer for the Hale County Cattlemen’s Association with her husband for 25 years, until his death at which time she assumed the position for the past ten year. She was an avid supporter of Southern Academy, where she was secretary for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers and one sister.

She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Anne McGill; four grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

DEMOPOLIS &045; Charles Braxton Sr., 56, of Demopolis died on January 24, 2007 at Bryan Whitfield Hospital. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2007 at the Birdine AM.E. Zion Church in Forkland. The Rev. Stephen Hixie officiated. Interment followed in the adjoining cemetery.

Survivors include six children, Charissa Moore of Eutaw, Charles Braxton Jr. of Birmingham, Steven Braxton of New York, Thaddeus Jones of Birmingham, Frank Perry of Auburn and Charles Braxton, III of Houston, Texas; ten grandchildren; eight sisters, Edna McKinley, Gail Braxton, Debra Mullen, Pam Williams, all of Demopolis; one step-sister; five brothers, Willie Clayton, Johnny Robinson, Ricky Robinson, all of Demopolis, Isadore Robinson of Jacksonville, Fla. and Edward Abrams of Atlanta, Ga.; step-father, Roy Quinney of Demopolis; two aunts, Marie Nora of Demopolis and Matilda Thurman of Mobile; a host nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Fannie Allen

DEMOPOLIS &045; Fannie Allen, 86, of Demopolis died on January 24, 2007 at Woodhaven Manor Nursing Home in Demopolis. Funeral services were held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, February 3, 2007 at the Eastern Star Baptist Church in Demopolis. The Rev. Terry Gosa officiated. Interment followed in Memorial Cemetery in Demopolis. Larkin&Scott Funeral directors of Demopolis were in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include a daughter; one step-daughter of Demopolis; nine grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Wiley Wilson Jr.

BOLIGEE &045; Wiley Wilson Jr., 55 of Boligee died on January 24, 2007 at U.A.B. Hospital in Birmingham. Funeral services were held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2007 at the Mount Zoar Baptist Church in Boligee. The Rev. Arthur Coleman officiated. Interment followed

in the adjoining cemetery. Larkin&Scott Funeral directors of Demopolis were in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include his parents, Wiley Wilson Sr. of Boligee and Ethel Wilson of Eutaw; seven sisters, Martha Wilson of Boligee, Ethel Jennings of Boligee, Laura Wilson of Tuscaloosa, Johnnie Mae Wilson of Eutaw, Eddie Mae Wilson of Atlanta, Brenda Horton of Eutaw and Jerry Wilson of Boligee; 37 nieces&nephews and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

DEMOPOLIS &045; Johnny Sanders, 81 of Demopolis died on January 30, 2007 at Bryan Whitfield Hospital in Demopolis. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at Larkin&Scott Funeral Home Chapel in Demopolis. The Rev. Edward King officiated. Interment followed in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Demopolis. Larkin&Scott Funeral directors of Demopolis were in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include his wife, Pernell Sanders of Demopolis; three children, Johnny, Vanessa and Wanda of Racine, Wisc.; four sisters-in-laws; two brothers-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

DEMOPOLIS &045; Lillie Inell Jones, 82, of Demopolis died on January 30, 2007 at Bryan Whitfield Hospital in Demopolis. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at the New Morning Star Baptist Church in Demopolis. The Rev. Willie Williams officiated. Survivors include one sister, Julia Coleman Harris of Demopolis, a niece and nephew; one god-brother; one brother-in-law; two sisters-in-law; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

MOBILE &045; Ed Lewis, of Mobile, formerly of Jefferson died on February 4, 2007 at Pleasant Grove Nursing Home in Birmingham.

Willie B. Watford

GREENSBORO &045; Willie B. Watford, 68, of Greensboro died on Jan. 28, 2007 at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa. Funeral services were held at 12 noon on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007 at Union Grove Baptist Church in Greensboro with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. David A. Simpson. Visitation was held from 12 noon until 7 p.m. on Friday at Washington&Paige Mortuary. The body also lied in state one hour prior to the service at the church. Washington&Paige Mortuary was in charge of the arrangements.

Warren James &8220;Cadillac&8221; Hollie

AKRON &045; Warren James &8220;Cadillac&8221; Hollie of Akron died on Jan. 25, 2007 at his residence. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007 at First Baptist Church in Akron with the Rev. Billy Thorton officiating. Burial followed the service in New Akron Cemetery. The body lied in state from 12 noon until the time of the service and from 12 noon until 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 2, 2007 at the funeral home. Agnew Funeral Home of Greensboro was in charge of the arrangements.
