Ellen Preuit Kirven

LINDEN &045; Ellen Preuit Kirven, 87, of Linden died on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2007 at Marengo Nursing Home in Linden. Graveside funeral services were held at Linden Memorial Park at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 11, 2007 with the Rev. Aaron Raulerson officiating.

She was born June 14, 1919 in Town Creek. She was a retired case worker for the Department of Human Resources.

She is survived by her son, Edward P/ Kirven of Sewanee, Tenn., her daughter, Ellen Kirven Donald of Alexandria, Va. And two grandsons.

O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Linden was in charge of the arrangements.

Ed Lewis

MOBILE &045; Ed Lewis, 93, of Mobile, formerly of Jefferson died on February 4, 2007 at Pleasant Grove Nursing Home in Pleasant Grove.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Friday, February 9, 2007 at the First Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Jefferson. The Rev. Edmond Charleston was the eulogist.

Interment followed in Jefferson Cemetery in Jefferson. Larkin&Scott Funeral directors of Demopolis were in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include three children, Eddie Young of Docena, Ruthie Williams of Mobile and Robert Alston of Mountainville; two sisters, Pearl Bradley and Sadie Cooley, Chicago; two brothers, Robert Lewis of Mobile and J.C. Hawkins of Chicago; seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Ruthie M. Kirk

DEMOPOLIS &045; Ruthie M. Kirk, 71, of Demopolis died on February 4, 2007 at Bryan Whitfield Hospital.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 10, 2007 at the Moscow Baptist Church in Demopolis.

The Rev. Timothy Paige is the pastor. The Rev. Elester Charleston was the eulogist.

Interment followed in the adjoining cemetery.

Larkin&Scott Funeral directors of Demopolis were in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include five children, Ella Kirk and Mary Kirk of Demopolis, Gus Kirk of Linden, Earnest Kirk of Demopolis and Henry Kirk of Selma; a sister, Hannah White of Linden; 12 grandchildren; seven nieces, nine nephews, a host of relatives and friends.

Percy Bradford

BELLAMY &045; Percy Bradford, 70, of Bellamy died on February 11, 2007 at D.C.H. Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Larkin&Scott Funeral directors of Demopolis.
