Maggie Givand- Murry

BUFFALO, N.Y. &045; Maggie Givand- Murry, 96, of Buffalo, N.Y., formerly of Demopolis, died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2007. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007 at H. Alfred Lewis’ Mortuary, Inc. in Buffalo, N.Y. with the Rev. James R. Banks, II officiating. A wake will be held at 10 a.m. an hour prior to the service at the mortuary.

She was born on August 17, 1910 in Livingston to the late Phil and Rosie Givand.

She was the first person in her family to graduate from high school. She worked as a domestic. She left Alabama and moved to Buffalo, N. Y. when her health began to fail her.

There her daughter, Rosa and her family cared her for. She looked forward to the visits from her son, Johnny and his family. Her birthday visits were her favorite celebrations.

Her husband, John Murry, also preceded her in death.

She is survived by one daughter, Rosa Mullen and her husband, Jimmie; and one son, Johnny Givand and his wife, Lillie; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grand children, one niece, relatives and friends.
