Auburn Ganus Thomas
DEMOPOLIS &045; Auburn Ganus Thomas, 93, died on Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at the Wood Haven Manor Nursing Home in Demopolis.
Graveside funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 9, 2007 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Greene County, with Dr. Rex Kent officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 8, 2007 at the Kidd-Robbins Funeral Chapel.
Thomas was a native of Ralph and a resident of Demopolis. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Demopolis and a self-employed paint contractor.
Thomas was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Lee Thomas and a brother, C.C. &8220;Buck&8221; Thomas.
Survivors include one son, Auburn W. Thomas and his wife, Judy of Orange Park, Fla. and one sister, Clara Cantrell of Carrolton; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to First Baptist Church – Music Ministry, P.O. Box 1009, Demopolis, AL 36732.

Margaret C. Griffith
SELMA &045; Margaret Cleveland Griffith, 81,
died
Tuesday, March 6,
2007 at her home.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 8, 2007 at The First United Methodist Church of Demopolis with Dr. Art Luckie officiating. Burial will follow in Old Springhill Cemetery with Kidd-Robbins Funeral directors in charge of the arrangements.
The Griffith family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time at the church on Thursday.
Griffith’s husband, John A. Griffith; her parents, Grover Cleveland and Leslie O’Neal Cleveland preceded her in death.
Survivors include her daughter, Leslie Smith and her husband, Les of Selma; her son, Bruce Griffith and his wife, Kathy of Montgomery; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her brother, Grover C. Cleveland and his wife, Rose of Demopolis.
Pallbearers will be Will Baker, David Cleveland, Joshua Smith, Rick Cleveland, Jimmy Spencer and Tommy Reynolds.
The Griffith family will accept flowers or donations to The First United Methodist Church of Demopolis, 200 East Decatur Street Demopolis, AL, 36732.
Mary Frances Williams
GREENSBORO &045; Mary Frances Williams, 86, of the Lock 5 Community in Greensboro died in Feb. 27, 2007 at Bryan Whitfield Hospital in Demopolis. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2007 at the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Gallion, with the Rev. D.J. White officiated.
Interment followed in Mickens Cemetery in Greensboro.
Larkin&Scott Funeral directors of Demopolis is in charge of the arrangements.
Her husband, Fate Williams and son, Willie Williams preceded her in death.
Survivors include 11 children, Beatrice Jones and husband, Eddie of Demopolis, Deloris Edwards and Juanita Fields and husband Arthur of Tuscaloosa, Mary Hurns
and Lucinda Hill of Greensboro, Clemon Williams and Carolyn of Radcliff, Kent., Roosevelt Williams and husband, Jerry of Birmingham, Leon Williams of Greensboro, Joe Williams and Joseph Williams, both of Birmingham, Frank Williams and wife, Millie of Atlanta; 41 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren; one brother, Willie Chavers III of Birmingham and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
Georgia Brown-Hill
COATOPA &045; Georgia Brown-Hill, 73 of Coatopa died on March 1, 2007 at Trinity Medical Center in Birmingham.
Memorial services were held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at the Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Coatopa. The Rev. Wesley Winston officiated.
Larkin&Scott Funeral directors of Demopolis were in charge of the arrangements. She was an active member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church, an assistant Sunday School teacher, choir member and various other duties.
One sister, Catherine Brown preceded her in death.
Her survivors include a husband of 55 years, Simon Hill Jr. of Coatopa; six children, Eddie L. Gilbert and husband, Larry of Birmingham, Jake Hill of Coatopa, Samuel Hill and wife, Jerelyn of Coatopa, Joe Ann Jefferson and husband, Kyser of Birmingham, Simon Hill III and wife, Gina of Chicago and Miquita Hill-McCree and husband, Timothy of Birmingham; five siblings, Corine Whitman and husband, Willie of Brighton, Lana Jean Cooper and husband, Tony of Bessemer, Charles Brown and wife, Arnetta of Birmingham, John Brown and wife, Patricia of Chicago and Yardell Brown of Brooklyn, N.Y.;19 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, special godchildren, relatives and numerous friends.

CLEVELAND, Ohio &045; Cynthia Page Dorsey, 43 of Cleveland, Ohio, formerly of Demopolis died on February 24, 2007 in Cleveland, Ohio.
Funeral services were held 2007 at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at the Greater New Hope Baptist Church in Demopolis. The Rev. Honoree Lockett officiated.
Interment followed in Memorial Cemetery in Demopolis. Larkin&Scott Funeral directors of Demopolis were in charge of the arrangements.
Her parents, Minnie B. Page and Grover Jeffries Sr., and two brothers, the Rev. Elvis Page and Terry Page, preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Laneshia Page-Murray
and husband, Keith of Cleveland, Ohio and Adrian Dorsey of Demopolis; one granddaughter; six siblings, Malinda P. Gassoma of Cleveland, Ohio, the Rev. Timothy Page and wife, Cathy, Tommy Page and wife, Patricia and Grover Jeffries Jr., all of Demopolis, William Norah Page and Nathaniel Page of Cleveland, Ohio; grandmother, Lucille Jeffries Carter of Demopolis and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
