DEMOPOLIS &045; The young Demopolis Lady Tiger softball team are still maturing as the season progresses. They have played a tough schedule all season and it won’t get easier this afternoon, as they get set to face the 6A Tuscaloosa County Lady Wildcats. Tomorrow Demopolis, who has won five out of the twenty games they’ve played, will play host to Bibb County, who is always tough. Bibb County was the team that knocked the Lady Tigers out of the state playoffs last season.

&8220;Tuscaloosa County is very well coached and they are fast,&8221; said Lady Tiger head coach Joey Browder. &8220;They are a powerful hitting team.&8221;

It will be the second meeting of the two teams this year, as Demopolis opened its season against the Lady Wildcats in Tuscaloosa, which Tuscaloosa County came out on top.

&8220;We’ve ironed out some of our holes since that game,&8221; Browder said. &8220;We’re getting better and we’re starting to hit the ball hard. The hitting game has come around and our pitching has gotten stronger, as well. To win we must hit, hit, hit and play solid defense.&8221;

Bibb County will roll in to town tomorrow, which has always been a good rivalry for the Lady Tigers.

The first pitch is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. this afternoon’s game. Tomorrow’s Bib County game is slated to start at 4:30 p.m.
