Sammie Jean Barkley

THOMASTON &045; Sammie Jean Barkley, 76, of Thomaston died on Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa. Funeral services were held at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home at 3 p.m. on Friday, March 30, 2007 with the Rev. Brooks Barkley officiating. Burial was held at Thomaston Cemetery in Thomaston.

She was born July 7, 1930 in Thomaston. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her daughter, Martha Earnest and husband, J.C. of Berry; her sons, Michael Barkley and wife, Cathy and Gilbert Barkley and wife, Kim, both of Knoxville, Tenn.; three grandsons, four granddaughters and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Lee Barkley and daughter, Mary Louise Barkley.

Active pallbearers were Chris Barkley, Joe Earnest, Michael Frost, Shannon Smith, Johnathan Lay and Tommy Barkley.

O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Linden was in charge of the arrangements.

Maurice Hall King

ALABASTER &045; Maurice Hall King, 86 of Alabaster, formerly of Demopolis died on Friday, March 30, 2007 at Shelby Baptist Center in Alabaster. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. on Monday at Fairhaven Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Providence Cemetery in Gallion. The King family will friends at Fairhaven, Monday from 2 p.m. until service time.

Hazel Lee Wright Bedsole

DEMOPOLIS &045; Hazel Lee Wright Bedsole, 83, died on Thursday, March 29, 2007 at her home.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 2, 2007 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Demopolis with the Revs. Aaron Raulerson and Bryan Hatchett officiating.

Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery with Kidd-Robbins Funeral directors of Demopolis directing.

Bedsole was born in Forkland and has been a resident of Demopolis for numerous years, where she was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Demopolis. Bedsole retired from the State of Alabama Department of Industrial Relations

as a supervisor after 35 of service.

Bedsole was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew Wright Sr. and Vera Lee Wright; her husband, Cecil Lenoir Bedsole Sr.

Bedsole is survived by her son, Cecil Lenoir Bedsole Jr. and his wife, Diane of Demopolis; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Andrew Wright Jr. and wife, Virginia

of Aliceville; a special friend, Amy Pickrum of Demopolis.

Pallbearers will be Joe Bedsole, Bill McDaniel, Bert McDaniel, Lloyd Duncan, Raiford Duncan, John

Northcutt and A. G. Westbrook.

Honorary pallbearers will be Southern Care Hospice, Sara Smith, Shirley Pruett and Ada Phillips.
