Demopolis High SchoolDEMOPOLIS &8212; Perhaps long overdue, the Player of the Week spotlight has found its way to the Demopolis High School softball field and the young lady who frequents its pitching circle, Sara Davis.

Davis has continually presented a strong case for the honor, but sealed the deal last week when she picked up two wins in Tuesday&8217;s Demopolis Invitational. The games saw her surrender only four hits while striking out 15 batters, ending a stretch in which she pitched nine games in eight days.

Davis&8217; off-the-field work seemed particularly evident in the invitational as she refused to waver down the stretch of back-to-back games, continually looking her best in pressure situations.

Browder believes Davis&8217; work ethic is responsible for elevating her already formidable game to new heights this season.

That appreciation manifests itself in a way that at times seems to make everyone else in a Tiger uniform better.
