Cleo Jones

New Harford, Conn. &8212; Cleo Jones, of New Hartford, Conn., formerly of Jefferson died on April 5, 2007 at her residence. Funeral services were held at noon on Saturday, April 14, 2007 at Larkin&Scott Funeral Home Chapel in Demopolis. The Rev. Elester Charleston officiated. Interment followed in Scott Memorial Cemetery in Jefferson. Larkin&Scott Funeral directors of Demopolis were in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include five children, Enoch Jones Jr. of Demopolis, Marvine V. Jones, Barbara A. Jones, Melvin C. Jones and wife, Jimmie of Hartford, Conn.; daughter-in-law, Roslyn Jones of Providence, R.I.; five siblings, Phillip Jeffries of Warwick, R.I., Abraham Jeffries, Sally Moltimore, Martha Smith, all of East Providence, R.I. and Thomas Jeffries of Newport, R.I.; 10 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

Harvey LaRoy McDonald

BOLIGEE &8212; Harvey LaRoy McDonald, 20, of Boligee died on April 8, 2007 at Greene County Hospital in Eutaw. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2007 at the Christian Valley Baptist Church in Boligee. Interment followed in Taylor Place Cemetery in Boligee. Larkin&Scott Funeral directors of Demopolis were in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include mother and stepfather, Evelyn Cotton and Harold Jackson of Hueytown; biological father, Harvey McDonald Sr. of Birmingham; three brothers, JaMarcus Jackson, Bradley Jackson, both of Hueytown and Barry Williams of Birmingham; two sisters, Amber McDonald of Clay Chalkville and Dominique McDonald of Birmingham; grandparents, Josephine Cotton of Boligee, Willie and Alberta McDonald of Birmingham and numerous cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.

Ross Dubose

BELLAMY &8212; Ross Dubose of Bellamy died on April 14, 2007 at Hill Hospital in York. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Larkin&Scott Funeral directors of Demopolis.

John W. Woods

DEMOPOLIS &8212; John W. Woods, 67, of Demopolis died on April 11, 2007 at D.C.H. Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at the Morning Star Baptist Church in Demopolis. The Rev. James Dunn will officiate. Interment will follow in Memorial Cemetery. The remains will repose beginning at 10 a.m. at the church on Wednesday. Larkin&Scott Funeral directors of Demopolis are in charge of the arrangements.

His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Woods Sr.; two brothers, James Woods and Threet W. Woods and sister, Clara Woods-Robinson, preceded him in death.

Survivors include a wife, Dorothy L. Woods of Demopolis; two brothers, Sam Woods Jr. of Laurel, Md., Edward E. Woods and wife, Betty of Winston Salem, N.C.; two sisters, Martha Nichol and husband, Peter of Lilburn, Ga. and Fannie G. Woods of New York, N.Y.; step-daughter, Joyce Y. Fluker; one step-granddaughter and a host other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers and flower bearers are Class of 1959-U.S. Jones High School.

Ben Jackson Sr.

TUSCALOOSA &8212; Ben Jackson Sr., 34, of Tuscaloosa, formerly of Forkland died on April 8, 2007 at Bryan Whitfield Hospital in Demopolis.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2007 at the Carver Middle School in Eutaw. The Rev. Pharrell Fowler officiated.

Interment followed in Ebenezer Cemetery in Forkland.

Williams Funeral Home of Tuscaloosa was in charge of the arrangements.

Jackson was employed by the Westervelt Company (formerly Gulf States Paper) in Moundville. He graduated from Paramount High School in Boligee in 1991; attended Shelton State College in Tuscaloosa, earning a degree in welding.

His sister, Felicia Jackson, grandparents, Nick and Cellie Jackson and Joe and Amanda Jackson, all preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Jameka Ellington Jackson of Tuscaloosa; four children, Jaslon and Meagan Jackson of Tuscaloosa and Daron Anthony of Opelika and JaLeel Jackson of Tuscaloosa; parents, Ben and Julia Jackson Sr. of Forkland; two sisters, Tamala Beck and husband, Wayne of Forkland and Bobbie Mavin and husband, Dennis of Gainesville, Fla.; two brothers, Marlos Jackson and wife, Nakami of Tuscaloosa and John Bullock and wife, LeTousha of Boligee and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
