Betty Alice Gates

FORKLAND &8212; Betty Alice Gates, 70, died on Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at Marengo Nursing Home in Linden after a sudden illness.

Private memorial services will be held at a later date.

Betty&8217;s parents, Wilford H. Montgomery and Lois Wilson Montgomery and her brother, Garland Montgomery preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband of 20 years, Charles L. Gates of Forkland; two daughters, Cindy Gates and her husband, David of Jonestown, Colo., Kay White of Forkland; two sons, Ronnie Blevins, Roger Blevins and his wife, Barbara, all of Forkland; two sisters, Melba Bassett of Birmingham and Elnora Hollis of Dora; her nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; three nieces and five nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be given in memory of Betty Gates, c/o Ronnie Blevins, 6970 County Road 41, Forkland, AL, 36740.
