DEMOPOLIS &8212; Two County teams that have sealed up their respective area titles, Demopolis High School, 13-14, and Sweet Water High School, 13-13, will face off on the diamond today as they look toward the beginning of playoffs.

While neither team has dominated their schedule, both have done what it takes to not only make playoffs, but to win their areas and receive a home game for the first round of post season play. Both coaches look at the game as a way to get their team prepared for what they will face in the post season.

Moody said the Sweet Water team has several talented players, and if his group starts like it did against Dallas County, with three errors in the first three innings that lead to five scores against the Tigers, and has problems swinging they could be in for trouble. Good at bats dulled the early blunders by Moody&8217;s group in the Tuesday game as it moved to an 11-5 victory to grab the title, but batting consistency has been an issue for the team.

Luker, whose Bulldogs have faced similar inconsistencies to those of the Tigers, said by playing a team in a higher division he can get some valuable experience for his team as they head toward the post season. He said his group has faced several good teams like Demopolis so far this season, which could payoff in added play.

Luker, on the other hand, said he would use the game to mix up the team&8217;s type of play a bit. His players, coming off a rest day yesterday after the Dallas County game, will see some different looks from their coach when they face Sweet Water.

Though the game has no ramifications on the each team&8217;s post season looks, with Demopolis hosting Spanish Fort at home and Sweet Water hosting Berry at Home next Tuesday, the county match up is more of a vehicle for player pride.
