CENTERVILLE &8212; The Demopolis golf team dropped a pair of matches against Bibb County High School this week.
The Tigers, 8-4, hosted the team Wednesday at the Ravine Golf Course at the Sportsplex and lost the close contest by eight strokes, falling 168-176. The group had a chance to redeem the loss in a second match yesterday, but the Tigers couldn&8217;t overcome Bibb County&8217;s home course advantage and fell, 186-212.
The youthful group only has one senior to bolster its ranks. Black said this year is a rebuilding year and the team is working to gain experience that will help it in the future.
The team&8217;s low scorer during both matches was John Parden, who has consistently turned in low scores throughout the season. He scored a 36 during the home match Wednesday and a 40 during yesterday&8217;s loss on nine holes of play.
The team has two more regular season matches, one home and one away, against Thomasville High School. Then the team will compete in the Relay for Life Golf Tournament at Demopolis Country Club in preparation for the state playoff sectionals in Jasper on April 29.
