Sam Lewis Sr.

BELLAMY &8212; Sam Lewis Sr., 69, died on April 12, 2007 at Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital in Demopolis. Services were at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 21 at Morning Star Baptist Church in Bellamy with the Rev. Robert Pearce Sr. officiating. Burial followed in Dugg Hill Cemetery in Coatopa with McInnis Mortuary of Livingston was in charge of the arrangements. Visitation was held from 1 until 6 p.m. on Friday at the mortuary and an hour prior to service time at the church. McInnis Mortuary was in charge of the arrangements.

Richard &8220;Ricky&8221; Samuel Smith Jr.

NEWBERN &8212; Richard &8220;Ricky&8221; Samuel Smith Jr., 51, died on April 22 at Hale County Hospital.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. today at the Newbern Cemetery with Dr. Paul Reitzer and the Rev. Dee McGuire officiating.

Kirk Funeral Homes Greensboro Chapel directing. The family will receive friends at the home of Grace Hogue in Newbern immediately following the graveside service.

He was from Perry County and employed with Harvest Select Catfish Company as a Supervisor in Uniontown. Smith was married for 25 years to his wife, Betty Ann Hogue Smith.

He served as a deacon at his church, Newbern Baptist.

Three years ago, he started Tailgate Seafoods in Marion and Uniontown. This was

his pride and passion. He enjoyed serving his community with seafood, but most importantly, his driving passion was visiting with his customers. What started as a weekend hobby and side job, quickly turned into a deep-hearted love and opportunity for him to give back to the communities he loved.

He was preceded in death by his father Richard Samuel Smith Sr.

Survivors include his mother, Linda Lou Lavender Smith; his wife, Betty Ann Hogue Smith, four daughters, Amy Smith Rose and husband, Richard, of Greensboro, Audra Leigh Smith of Demopolis, Amanda Ray Smith of Greensboro, Ashton Rebecca Smith of Newbern, one brother, Dale Edwin Smith of Marion and two grandchildren.

Active pallbearers were Woody Stokes, Mike Stokes, Mike Hightower, Colby Smith, Richard Rose, Scott Williams, Moses Jones, G.B. Woods, Ben Lavender and Jaye Washbum.

Honorary pallbearer were the Hale County Hospital, Hale County EMS, employees of Harvest Select Catfish, the fans and customers of Tailgate Seafoods and the Newbern community family.

Kirk Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
