Rosie Lily Allen

TUSCALOOSA &8212; Rosie Lily Allen, 81, of Tuscaloosa, formerly of Forkland, died recently in Montgomery. Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, May 5, 2007 at the Lloyd Chapel Baptist Church in Forkland. The Rev. Clayborn May will officiate.

Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery. The remains will repose at the church beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday. Larkin&Scott Funeral directors of Demopolis are in charge of the arrangements.

William Brown Jr.

DEMOPOLIS &8212; William Brown Jr. of Demopolis died on May 2, 2007 at University of Alabama Hospital in Birmingham. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Larkin&Scott Funeral directors of Demopolis.

Michael A. Brown

LORAIN, Ohio &8212; Michael A. Brown, of Lorain, Ohio died recently. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Larkin&Scott Funeral directors of Demopolis.

He is the grandson of the late Louis Sr. and Frankie Waters of Demopolis, the nephew of Lois Wilson of Gallion, Maxine Barlow of Tuscaloosa and Louis Waters Jr. of Demopolis.

Dorothy Arlene Collins

DEMOPOLIS &8212; Dorothy Arlene Collins, 78, of Demopolis died on April 27. A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Officiating the service will be the Rev. Tommy Carr. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 300 N. Strawberry St., Demopolis, 36732.

Collins was born August 27, 1928 in Fulton County, Ark., the daughter of the Late Arnold and Thelma Major of Mammoth Springs, Ark.

She was united in marriage to Clifford Collins on July 11, 1978. She was a lifelong member of the Elks Lodge and held several positions as a member.

Survivors include: one son, Travis Burnham and his wife, Linda, of Demopolis, one step-daughter, Catherine Butler and husband, Charles, of Salem, Ark., two step-sons, Jerry Collins and wife, Carolyn, of McKinney, Texas and Gerald Collins and wife, Daphene, of Mobile, one grandson, one granddaughter, three great-grandsons, step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Thelma Major, her husbands, Wilford Burnham and Clifford Collins, her sister, Carol Lee Manes and her brother, Raye Major.

Kidd Robbins Funeral directors of Demopolis is in charge of arrangements.

Arthur Lee Horton

DEMOPOLIS &8212; Arthur Lee Horton, of Demopolis, died on May 1 at Bryan Whitfield Memorial Hospital in Demopolis. Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday at New Morning Star Baptist Church in Demopolis with burial to follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery. There will be no public viewing held. Agnew Funeral Home of Greensboro is in charge of the arrangements.

Joe James Jockisch

GREENSBORO &8212; Joe James Jockisch, 78, of Greensboro died on May 2 at the Hospice of West Alabama in Tuscaloosa. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Friday at Kirk Funeral Home Greensboro Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Oakwood Cemetery in Greensboro with the Revs. Dee McGuire and Arthur Thomas officiating. Kirk Funeral Homes Greensboro Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Jockisch was born March 20, 1929 in Hale County. He was self-employed as a mechanic. He opened Joe&8217;s Repair Shop in Eutaw in 1963. He operated the business until he retired. He was an avid hunter and farmer and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

His parents, Charlie and Burlie Monts Jockisch, four sisters, Melonea Martin, Margaret Jockisch, Verlie Wade and Ellen Cole and four brothers, Bill, Charlie, Horace and Vernard Jockisch, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Rebecca Whitfield Jockisch, two daughters, Jacqueline Broussard and husband, Marty and Sonja Davis and husband, Ritchie of Greensboro; two sons, Kevin Jockisch and Laura of Eutaw and James Jockisch and wife, Belinda of Birmingham; eight grandchildren, two half-sister, Evelyn Pounds and husband, James of Mobile and Eleanor Roberts of Tennessee.

Active pallbearers are Randy Brown, Jack Davis, Robbie Langham, Billy Ryan, Birney Hales, Dr. Doug Halbrooks, Earnest Cochran, John C. Jay III and Ray Duncan.

Honorary pallbearers are friends of Greensboro and Eutaw, Hospice of West Alabama Staff, DCH Cancer Center Staff, Hale County Hospital Home Health, Hale County Ambulance Service and Deborah Holley.
