Cynthia Phillips is continuously working to improve the science department at the high school. This year she is serving as head teacher in the department. She takes her job seriously and tries to help students excell.
The first year Cynthia Phillips was teaching at DHS, she sponsored the DHS Science Club. The club planted trees along the driveway to the front entrance.
Today those trees are thriving and improving the beautification of the school. She has helped many students excell in science. Many of her students have received top honors at the Alabama Science Fair and advanced to the Internation Competition.
She always works to improve school sponsored activities. For many years Cynthia Phillips has been in charge of the DHS Homecoming Court activites. This is only one of the many her successful events at DHS.
Dr. Isaac Espy, principal, says, “Mrs. Phillips has been effective and innovative as our science department head. She is a leader among our faculty at Demopolis High School, and is working with our science department to raise that program to a new level.
