DEMOPOLIS &8212; Visitors to the City of Demopolis and surrounding areas may now use the Demopolis Area Chamber of Commerce&8217;s newly redesigned Web site as a tool for their upcoming visit.

Web surfers can go to www.demopolischamber.com and look for accommodations such as restaurants, lodging and shopping. This is just one of the new features developed on the site.

The Chamber&8217;s intent for the redesign was for easier access as well as a new look.

Smith said after the site&8217;s completion the Chamber hopes to include entry forms for most all events of COTR, including the Jingle Bell Run, Day Parade, Fair on the Square and COTR pageant.

Smith said the new look of the site was also important to the Chamber in the redesign.

The Chamber expanded some of its features that were published on their previous site such as the interactive map and directions.

It also includes a general membership directory with a current members list, Smith said. It will include information on the Industrial Development Board, including demographics and assistance for small business development, she said.

Another element to the redesigned site is the inclusion of the Chamber&8217;s newsletters.

The site is still under construction, Smith said.

Smith said there is still some work to be done with the interactive map and some of the online forms available.

When the site is complete, Smith said the Chamber would be able to make updates to the site regularly.

Smith said Mint Shows, is redesigning the site for the Chamber. The site was purchased through Saelens1to1 Web Solutions. Smith said the Chamber took bids from chamber members for the redesign.
