Blalock/Lee, Bowling/Evans

Blalock/Lee

Beth Drake Stoudenmier of Marion announces the engagement of her daughter, Margaret Leanah Blalock to Captain Thomas Bailey Davis Lee, son of Major (Ret.) and Mrs. Roy Edward Lee of Greensboro.

Miss Blalock is also the daughter of the late Julian Tutwiler Blalock.

Miss Blalock is the granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. John Butler Blalock of Birmingham and Mr. and Mrs. Walton Avery Drake of Uniontown.

She is also the great-granddaughter of Mrs. Alpheus Brown Drake Sr. of Greensboro.

She is a 1997 graduate of Greensboro West High School, a 2002 graduate of the University of Alabama in marketing and Spanish, and a 2005 master of arts graduate of the University of Alabama in education.

She currently teaches at Battery Creek High School in Beaufort, S.C.

Lee is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. William Charles Cayley of Birmingham and the late Mr. and Mrs. Roy Edward Lee of Tuscaloosa.

A 1997 graduate of Greensboro West High School, he received a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Alabama in 2001.

He entered the U.S. Marine Corps in 2001 and received his Wings of Gold in 2004.

He is stationed at the Marine Corps Air Station in Beaufort where he is a designated naval aviator.

The wedding will be held on June 30 at the Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Uniontown.

Bowling/Evans

Ms. Jeddy Mathews and Mr. and Mrs. Thurston Wayne Bowling Jr. , all of Birmingham announce the engagement of their daughter, April Melissa Bowling of Birmingham to Arthur Scott Evans of Montgomery, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Evans.

The bride is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Mathews of Birmingham, Mr. and Mrs. Thurston Bowling Sr., of Oneonta, and Mrs. Jessie Wood, of Birmingham.

The bride is a Hewitt-Trussville High graduate in 1999, a 2003 graduate of University of Alabama, a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority and has a bachelor of science degree in health care management.

She is employed by Biomet-Spine.

The groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. George Franks and Mrs. Alease Evans and the late Richard Evans all of Demopolis.

He is a graduate of Demopolis High School in 1996, a 2001 graduate of University of Alabama receiving a bachelor of science degree in marketing, a member of the University of Alabama baseball team.

He is employed by Nutech Medical.

The wedding will be held at 6 p.m. on June 9

at the Canterbury United Methodist Church in Birmingham.
