Earnest Lum

DEMOPOLIS &8212; Earnest Lum, 58 of Demopolis died on May 23, 2007 at his residence.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 1, 2007 at the Christian Chapel Baptist Church in Demopolis. The Rev. Fred Moore officiated.

Interment with military honors followed in Memorial Cemetery in Demopolis. Larkin&Scott funeral directors of Demopolis were in charge of the arrangements.

Lum was honorably discharged from the U.S. Marines and the U.S. Army retiring at the rank of sergeant.

Survivors include his mother, Sadie W. Lum of Demopolis; his caretaker, guardian and common-law wife, Pearlie Harris of Demopolis; children; Mario Lum, of Indianapolis, Reynard Lum, of Chattanooga, Tenn., Thomas Humphrey, of Chattanooga, Tenn., Charlene Davis, of Inkster, Mich., Mignon Broughton and husband, Mark, of Los Angeles and LaDonna English, of Chicago; 10 grandchildren; siblings, Ludie Postell and husband, Michael, of Chattanooga, Tenn., Rebecca Jones and husband, Hubert, of Allen, Texas, Doroetha Watts and husband, O&8217;Ferral, of Chattanooga, Tenn., Thelma Morgan and husband, Connie, of Demopolis, Rose M. Arrington of Chattanooga, Tenn., John Jones and wife, Sarah, of Demopolis, Thomas Jones, of Demopolis, Larry Johnson and wife, Theresa, of Chattanooga, Tenn. and Charles Johnson, of Beaumont, Texas; three aunts, one uncle and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and numerous friends.

Martha Crawford

DEMOPOLIS &8212; Martha Crawford, 74, of Demopolis died on June 24, 2007 at Bryan Whitfield Hospital.

Funeral services were held at noon Saturday, June 2, 2007 at the Eastern Star Baptist Church in Demopolis. The

Rev. Terry Gosa is the pastor. The Rev. John Crawford officiated.

Interment followed in Memorial Cemetery in Demopolis. Larkin&Scott funeral directors of Demopolis were in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her children, Belvin Green and wife, Cremolia, of Waukegan, Ill., Willie Crawford and wife, Patricia, of Tuscaloosa, Waiferene Jackson and husband, Jerry, of Demopolis, Tommy Crawford, of Anniston, Lula Crawford of Demopolis, Ileen Crawford, of Bronx, N.Y., the Rev. John Crawford and wife, Tammy, of Alliance, Ohio, Robert Crawford and wife, Dieudonne, of Gallion and James Crawford and wife, Cynthia, of Linwood, Ill.; 32 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

DEMOPOLIS &8212; Jessie J. Brown, 57, of Demopolis died recently at D.C.H. Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 9, 2007 at the Jerusalem Baptist Church in Gallion.

The Rev. Sid Rowser Sr. will officiate.

Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery.

Larkin&Scott funeral directors of Demopolis were in charge of the arrangements.

Annette Larkin-Williams

UNIONTOWN &8212; Annette Larkin-Williams, 44, of Uniontown died on May 30, 2007 at St. Vincent Medical Center in Birmingham. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 9, 2007 at the Quinn Chapel A.M.E. Church in Uniontown. The Rev. Ronnie Cook will officiate.

Interment will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Faunsdale. The remains will repose at the church beginning at noon on Saturday. Larkin&Scott funeral directors of Demopolis were in charge of the arrangements.

BOLIGEE &8212; Donald H. Cmar Sr., 78, of the Dollarhide community in Boligee, husband of Judith Schmitt-Cmar of Boligee died on June 1, 2007 at this residence.

Katie Dillard

DEMOPOLIS &8212; Katie Dillard of Demopolis died on June 4, 2007 at her daughter&8217;s residence in Selma. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Larkin&Scott funeral directors of Demopolis.

Ethel Elizabeth Barnette Washburn

GREENSBORO &8212; Ethel Elizabeth Barnette Washburn, 91, of Greensboro died on June 4 at Colonial Haven in Greensboro. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. today, June 6, 2007 at Bible Methodist Church in Greensboro with the Revs. Steve Vernon and Dee McGuire officiating. The family will receive friends from 3 until 4 p.m. at the church before the service. Interment will follow at Waycross Cemetery. Kirk Funeral Homes of Greensboro is in charge of the arrangements.

She was born March 17, 1916 in Perry County. She was self-employed at Washburn&8217;s.

She was the daughter of James and Sarah Irene Langford Washburn.

She is survived by one daughter, Betty Hughey and husband, Maurice of Greensboro; three sons, Wilson Washburn and wife, Alice, of Demopolis, Tommy Washburn and wife, Regina, of Greensboro and Glen Washburn and wife, Glenda of Conyers, Ga.; one sister, Pearl Gardner of Mobile; eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Darrell Hughey, Greg Hughey, Phillip Spence, Mike Washburn, Kerry Washburn and Paul Wheeler.
