EUTAW &8212; The Rev. Willie J. Gaines Jr., 74, of Eutaw died on June 26, 2007 at his residence.

Funeral services were held at noon on Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at the St. Matthew Watson Baptist Church in Boligee. The Rev. Christopher Spencer is the pastor. The Rev. Fred D. Moore officiated.

Interment followed in the adjoining cemetery. Larkin&Scott Funeral directors of Demopolis were in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include a wife, Annie Gaitor Gaines of Eutaw; four daughters, Victoria Thompson of Miami, Lenora Sawyer of Bolingbrook, Ill., Jackie Underwood and husband, Henry of Ft. Wayne, Ind. and LaShan Waller and husband, George of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; one son, Willie J. Gaines, III of Detroit; five granddaughters, four grandsons, two great-granddaughters, four great-grandsons; two god-daughters; two sisters, Odestia Fulgham and husband, Joe of Boligee and Mary E. Gaines of Montgomery; six brothers, Ridgeway Gaines of Forkland, Rufus Gaines of Boligee, Samuel Gaines and wife, Cathy of Montgomery, Tommy Gaines and wife, Evelyn of Crown Point, Ind., Semore Gaines and Alfred Gaines of Chicago and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

YORK &8212; Ruthie D. Scott, 90, of York died on July 2, 2007 in Houston, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 6, 2007 at the St. John Baptist Church in Ward. The Rev. P. L. Lockett will be the eulogist. Interment will follow in the adjacent cemetery. Larkin&Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis are in charge of the arrangements.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. &8212; Warren Justin Dandridge, 26, of Staten Island, N.Y. died on June 23, 2007 at St. Luke Hospital in Manhattan, N.Y. Graveside funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Monday, July 2, 2007 at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Demopolis. The Rev. Charlie Moore officiated. Survivors include her mother, Maria Mann of Demopolis, grandmother, Nannette Mann of Demopolis; a host of uncles, aunts, great-uncles, great-aunts, cousins, other relatives and friends.

CLEVELAND &8212; Leroy Rowser, 68, of Cleveland, Ohio, formerly of Demopolis died on June 25, 2007 at University Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 2, 2007 at the Evening Star Baptist Church in Gallion. The Rev. Floyd James is the pastor. Pastor Johnny Twymon officiated. Interment followed in the adjacent cemetery. Larkin&Scott Funeral directors of Demopolis were in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include his wife, Erma Jean Rowser, Cleveland, Ohio; his children, Douglas Phillips, Derrick Jones, Army Specialist LeRoy Rowser and Dr. Rhea Smith and husband, Fernando, mother, Jacqueline F. Rowser; siblings, Sara Zanders and husband, Steve of Cleveland, Ohio and the Rev. Albert Murdock Jr. and wife, Michelle of Demopolis; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

FORKLAND &8212; Beverly K. Banks-Nora, 55, of Forkland died on June 25, 2007 at D.C.H. Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 1, 2007 at the Birdine A.M.E. Zion Church in Forkland. The Rev. Stanley Hickey officiated. Interment followed in the adjoining cemetery. DEMOPOLIS &8212; Emma L. Gracie Atkins, 78, of Demopolis died on June 24, 2007 at Colonial Haven Healthcare in Greensboro. Funeral services were held at noon on Saturday, June 30, 2007 at the Eastern Star Baptist Church in Demopolis. The Rev. Terry Gosa was the pastor. Minister James Todd officiated. Interment followed in Mount Olive Cemetery in Gallion. Larkin&Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis was in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include a daughter, Georgia Todd and husband, the Rev. James Atkins of Demopolis; eight grandchildren, three whom she reared, Tiffany Cherry of Raleigh, N.C., David Cherry of Demopolis and James Todd Jr. of Demopolis; two sisters, Lizzie Patterson and Mary Kirby and husband, Willard of Chicago; three brothers, Ned Gracie and wife, Bessie and husband, Freddie Gracie of Demopolis and Joe Gracie of Fairfield; one daughter-in-law, Mary B. Gracie; two sisters-in-law; one god-son, the Rev. Mitchell R. Congress of Demopolis; a host of other relatives and friends.

EMELLE &8212; Dallas &8220;Paul&8221; Bell Sr., 60, of Emelle died on June 30, 2007 at his home. Funeral services are set for 1 p.m. Saturday at the Livingston Jr. High School Auditorium in Livingston with the Rev. Lt. Whitfield officiating. Interment will follow in Brown Cemetery in Sumterville with McInnis Mortuary of Livingston directing. Visitation is from 1 to 6 p.m. on today at the mortuary and an hour prior to service time at the school.

EUTAW &8212; Louise Rice, 85, of Eutaw died on July 2 at the Greene County Nursing Home in Eutaw. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Eutaw with the Rev. Paul Calligan officiating. Interment will follow in First Baptist Cemetery with McInnis Mortuary of Eutaw directing. Visitation is from 1-6 p.m. on today at the mortuary and an hour prior to service time at the church.

FORKLAND &8212; Carrie Bell Walton, 71, of Forkland died on June 25, 2007 in Bowling Green, Ky. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m on Saturday, June 30, 2007 at the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Forkland. The Rev. William M. Branch Sr., officiating pastor. Interment followed in the adjoining cemetery. Larkin&Scott Funeral directors of Demopolis were in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors included five children, Shaun Renee&8217;, Robert Jr., Karen Lynn, Jeffrey James and Lillian Javada, devoted son-in-law, Anthony Clay of Fayetteville, Ga.; nephew, Floyd Hendricks, six grandchildren, siblings: Dot, Florida, Bonnie, Lillian, Bill and Bertha; a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, relatives and friends.
