Under-12 fall early, cant bounce back

HOKES BLUFF &8212; The Demopolis under-12 Cal Ripken all-stars didn&8217;t make it to the final round of their state tournament, after a 4-1 record in their bracket.

The group opened up their tournament hopes against Theodore, and, though the group played hard, the Theodore team came out on top with a, 5-3, win. The Demopolis team was shut out in their next game against Coosa, falling 5-0.

Demopolis found its bats in the third game, against Madison, but still couldn&8217;t find a way to seal up the game, losing 10-7. The highlight of the tournament, and the group&8217;s only win came against Semmes. Demopolis walked away from the game with a, 5-2, win.

Unfortunately the group couldn&8217;t hold onto the momentum and go out on top in its final match up. The team fell, 8-3, against tournament host Hokes Bluff, ending its tournament before the final stage of the tourney on Sunday.
