Demopolis High School basketball player Casey Cantey is in the midst of a big summer. Not only is he looking forward to his senior year at school, but he is also staring down his last year of play on the courts for the Tigers.

Cantey plays center on the school&8217;s basketball team, and his on-court performance has garnered him attention not just by opposing teams but on the state level as well. Last week, he played in the Alabama High School Athletic Association&8217;s North/South all-star game, which brings together some of the top players from around the state.

After returning home, Cantey faces turning around and heading to Las Vegas, where he will participate in an Amateur Athletic Association tournament with his summer team the Southeast Elites, who are based out of Huntsville.

Both events will Cantey an opportunity to change up his style of play. After providing the role of a big man, due to his height, down low on the Tiger roster, Cantey will be able to provide a more versatile boost to his teams in the two events, where he will face players of equal stature.

Cantey&8217;s trips and basketball play will provide more than just experience playing with groups consisting of some top talent though. Both the all-star game and the tournament in Las Vegas will play host to scouts from colleges looking to secure talent for upcoming seasons.
