Armstrong, Freeman, Hill, Killings

Julia McKnight Killings

COATOPA &8212; Julia McKnight Killings, 86, of Coatopa died on July 9, 2007 at Bryan Whitfield Hospital in Demopolis. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 15, 2007 at the Bethel-Pine Baptist Church in Coatopa. The Rev. Floyd O. Bell officiated. Sis. Valtine Wright was the mistress of ceremony. Interment followed in Bethel Cemetery in Coatopa. Larkin&Scott Funeral directors of Demopolis was in charge of the arrangements.

Killings was married to Deacon Aaron Killings Sr. who preceded her in death. Three children also preceded her in death: James Killings, Columbus Killings and Willie Mae Killings McGrew.

She is survived by her five daughters: Bettie Meredith, Bertha Moore and husband, Ronnie, Dorothy Beville and husband, Roosevelt, Octavia Williams and husband, Sanders and Julia Lee Winston; three sons, Johnson Killings and wife, Cheryl, Attorney Aaron Killings Jr. and wife, Lillian and Jerry Killings and wife, Leah; one daughter-in-law, Lorina Killings.

She reared two grandchildren: Veronica Coleman and husband, Charles and Anthony Winston and one brother, Fellie McKnight of Coatopa.

A host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends survive her.

Kenndey &8220;Cheese&8221; Armstrong

COATOPA &8212; Kenndey &8220;Cheese&8221; Armstrong, 42, of Coatopa died on October 10, 2007 at Greene County Hospital in Eutaw. Funeral services were held noon Monday, July 16, 2007 at the Bethel-Pine Baptist Church in Coatopa. The Rev. Floyd Bell is the pastor. The Rev. Chris Spencer officiated.

Interment followed in Bethel Cemetery in Coatopa. Larkin&Scott Funeral directors of Demopolis were in charge of the arrangements.

He received his high school diploma from Montevallo High School and his welding certification from the Shelby County Vocational School.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Susie McKnight Armstrong.

He is survived by his father, Andrew Armstrong of Coatopa; one daughter, Amber Besteder of Jefferson; three brothers, Johnny McClain and wife, Annie of Montevallo; Harry McClain and wife, Alice and Alex Armstrong

and wife, Barbara, both of Flint, Mich.; one sister, Arona Dykes and wife, Howard of Jamaica, N.Y.; aunt, Carrie Armstrong of Marianna, Ark.; one uncle, Fellie McKnight of Coatopa; six nieces and four nephews, eight great-nieces, one great-nephew and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

GREENVILLE &8212; Lillian Freeman, of Greenville died on July 16, 2007 at Crowne Nursing Home in Greenville. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Larkin&Scott Funeral directors of Demopolis.

ALLENVILLE &8212; Celia Hill, of Allenville died on July 17, 2007 at Bryan Whitfield Hospital in Demopolis. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Larkin&Scott Funeral directors of Demopolis.
