Council calls special meeting

DEMOPOLIS &045; The City Council will hold a specially called meeting to discuss newly hired Fire Chief Ronnie Few at 6 p.m. Tuesday night at Rooster Hall.

The mayor and the council called the meeting in response to the residents&8217; concerns, Councilman Jack Cooley said Sunday. He said the public is encouraged to attend.

Few is scheduled to begin duties Monday morning.

Cooley said he received an overwhelming amount of phone calls from his constituents regarding the council&8217;s decision to hire Few.

Other members of the council could not reached for comment.
