THOMASTON &8212; A.L. Johnson fell in their jamboree game last Friday at Flomaton High School, but coach Moose Jones said the group can use what they have learned from the game to adjust for their season opener this Friday at home against Coffeeville High School.

Jones said the group&8217;s jamboree loss to the Hurricanes, 35-6, might not be a confidence booster, but it helps the group learn their weaknesses by playing a stronger 2A team from a different region. He said the group exhibited two major weaknesses in last week&8217;s play.

Jones said the group isn&8217;t going to go out and kill themselves on the practice field this week, though, to do so. Instead he said the group will hold a practice to address the issues and then rest up as they look to the regular season.

Jones said he doesn&8217;t think the team is anywhere near as tough as they should be to face some of the opponents they have on their schedule. He said it is something the group will have to work with as they try to win games and build confidence as the season progresses.

Jones said the group&8217;s first opponent, Coffeeville High School shouldn&8217;t present too much of a problem when compare to some of his team&8217;s tougher games later on in the meat of their schedule. He said the group will have to make some adjustments, but he doesn&8217;t anticipate anything too surprising out of the Panthers.

Jones said the biggest thing he will have to adjust to is the size of the Panther group up front. He said, along with the adjustments from this week&8217;s practice, the group&8217;s speed and conditioning should help the Eagles wear down the team early.
