John R. Moseley
GALLION &8212; John R. Moseley, age 78, died Monday, September 3, 2007 at his home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2007, at Providence Baptist Church with the Rev. Fred Freeman officiating. Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Kidd-Robbins Funeral Directors of Demopolis directing services. The family will receive friends at Kidd-Robbins Funeral Home Chapel from 7 until 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2007.

Moseley was born in Uniontown and a member of Providence Baptist Church.
Moseley was preceded in death by his parents, John T. Moseley and Bernice Proctor Moseley and a grandson, Anthony Moseley.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Violet Faye &8220;Polly&8221; Hayes Moseley, of Gallion; his daughter, Donna Faye Barkley and her husband, Scott, of Orange Beach; his son, Johnny R. Moseley, of Fairhope; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and one sister, Betty M. Dunn and her husband, Ted, of Gallion.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Boggs, John Northcutt, Jerry Ray, Gaines Vick, Arthur Dixon and Wenzell Boozer.
The Moseley family will accept flowers or donation to Comfort Care Hospice, 935 U.S. Hwy. 80 West, Demopolis, Alabama, 36732.
DEMOPOLIS &8212; Preston Hurns, 44, of Demopolis, a native of Tacoma, Wash. died Aug. 24, 2007, at his residence. Funeral services were held at noon Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007, at the New Morning Star Baptist Church in Demopolis.
The Rev. Frank Charleston officiated. Interment followed in Limestone Cemetery in Gallion. Larkin&Scott Funeral directors of Demopolis were in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include two children, Preston Hurns Jr. of Philadelphia, Pa. and Nefertari Bolden of Demopolis; two stepchildren, Deshaun Bailey and Jamal Bolden, both of Demopolis; five siblings; Queen Simmons and husband, Joe, of Toledo, Ohio, Flora Harris and husband, Johnny, of Demopolis, Mary A. Hildreth, of Tacoma, Roosevelt Hurns and wife, Mary, of Greensboro and Jacy Jr. Hurns and wife, Jean, of Birmingham and a number of aunts, nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
GREENSBORO &8212; Willie Guy, 53, of Greensboro died Aug. 30, 2007, at D.C.H. Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa. Funeral services will be held at noon on Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007, at Larkin&Scott Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Jasmine Guy will officiate. Larkin&Scott Funeral directors of Demopolis are in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include one son, James Guy of Arnold, Pa.; two sisters, Sally Love Johnson of Monroeville, Pa. and the Rev. Jasmine Guy of Cleveland, Ohio; one nephew, Lynn M. Guy, of Birmingham; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
DEMOPOLIS &8212; Roy Quinney, 80, of Demopolis died Aug. 30, 2007, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007, at the Hopewell Baptist Church in Linden. The Rev. Joseph Harper will officiate. Interment with military honors will allow in McKinley Memorial Gardens in Linden. Larkin&Scott Funeral directors of Demopolis are in charge of the arrangements. The remains will repose at the church beginning at noon on Saturday. Public viewing will be held from 1 until 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
NASSAU, N.Y. &8212; Canaberry Dorsey, of Nassau, N. Y., formerly of Demopolis, died Sept. 1, 2007, in Douglasville, Ga. Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007, at the Greater Commission Fellowship Church in Powder Springs, Ga. The Rev. Minerva Bell will officiate. Willie A. Watkins Funeral Home of Douglasville, Ga. is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include three daughters; mother, Melee Rowser of Demopolis; three brothers, Joe Nathan Dorsey and wife, Johnnie Mae and Willie James Dorsey and wife, Brettania of Demopolis and Ezekiel Dorsey and wife, Val, of Marietta, Ga.; one sister, Cora Nell Dorsey and husband, Tommy, of Tuscaloosa; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
