LINDEN &8212; Frederick Larnell Dumas, 17, of Magnolia, was charged on Sept. 10 with murder in connection with the death of Eric Rogers of Mobile, who passed away Friday from gunshot wound complications.

According to District Attorney Greg Griggers, Dumas was originally charged with assault in the first degree after Rogers was found shot on June 30. He was reportedly visiting family and friends in the area when the incident occurred.

Rogers suffered serious complications due to his gunshot wounds, Griggers said, and had to have surgery on his intestines.

The original charge of assault was dropped and Dumas was charged with murder.
