GREENSBORO &8212; The sewer and drainage systems and streets in the city of Greensboro will soon be on their way to repair thanks to $400,000 in federal grant funds, which will be presented by Congressman Artur Davis at 10 a.m., Monday.

According to Corey Ealons, Davis&8217;s press secretary, the funds are from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and can be used to repair and upgrade the city&8217;s infrastructure.

The city applied for the funds because they saw the great need for the improvements, but their revenue base could not support them, Ealons said. Davis, who represents the 7th congressional district that includes Hale County, wrote a letter of recommendation stating the city&8217;s needs.
