DEMOPOLIS &8212; Clinton A. &8220;Doc&8221; Rice, 75, died Friday, Nov. 23, 2007, at BMC- Princeton in Birmingham.
Services will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007, at Westside Baptist Church with the Revs. Richard Scott and Charles Mims officiating. Interment will follow in Demopolis Memorial Gardens with military honors being given by the United States Air Force. Kidd-Robbins Funeral directors of Demopolis directing services. The family will receive friends at Kidd-Robbins Funeral Home Chapel Monday, Nov. 26, 2007, from 6 until 8 p.m. Rice&8217;s body will lie in state at the church Tuesday one hour prior to the services.
Rice was a native of Woodstock and a resident of Demopolis for many years where he was the owner and operator of Rice Heating&Cooling for 35 years. He was a Korean Air Force veteran where he
served two terms and he was a member of Westside Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon for 34 years.
Rice&8217;s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carlton Rice; his sister, Wilodean DeRamus; his brother, W.C. Rice; his nephew, Johnny Rice preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Doris W. Rice, and his daughter, Wanda Rice, both of Demopolis; three sons, Kenneth Rice and wife, Cindy, and Tony Rice and wife, Vickie, all of Demopolis, Ricky Rice and wife, Kate, of Foley; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Doris Hamett of Fresno, Calif., Helen Durbin and husband, Jerry, of Clanton; two brothers, Howard Rice and wife, Edna Earl, and Willard Rice all of Prattville; sister-in-law, Marzell Rice, of Prattville.
Pallbearers will be Sean Wilson, Jeremy Black, Frank Armstead, Calvin Harmon, Alan Roberts and Robbie Rorie. Honorary pallbearers will be Rice&8217;s grandsons.
