One of the most celebrated times of the year is Christmas. And for Demopolis and the Marengo County area, Christmas on the River festivities kick off the celebrated season.

The City of Demopolis began adorning its city last week, adding the finishing touches today with white reindeer at the intersections around town. Residents also took to the holiday season decorating their homes and their yards in Christmas decor.

The City of Demopolis prides itself with this event, which is in its 36th year of celebration. Residents and businesses should follow suit with the city and adorn their property in Christmas cheer and help make Demopolis welcoming to visitors and participants of COTR events.

The decor can also be used to participate in the Southside Garden Clubs annual decorating contest as part of COTR tradition.
