DEMOPOLIS &8212; Dora Helena McAlpine, 86, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2007, at Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial hospital in Demopolis.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007, at the First Baptist Church in Demopolis with Dr. Rex Kent officiating with Kidd-Robbins Funeral Directors of Demopolis in charge of arrangements. McAlpine&8217;s body lied in state at the church one hour prior to service time. Interment followed in Demopolis Memorial Gardens.
McAlpine&8217;s parents, John Sayers and Bessie Cook Sayers and her husband, Robert J. McAlpine, preceded her in death.
Survivors include three sons, Robert W. McAlpine and wife, Betty, of Louisville, Ky., John M. McAlpine and wife, Pam, and William J. McAlpine and wife, Micki, all of Demopolis; one sister, Margaret S. Carter, of Demopolis; one brother, Sam M. Sayers of Demopolis; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Patterson, Kenny Freeman, Don Sprewell, Mike Fuqua, Jack Marler and Eddie Gardner.
